The Importance of Labelling Your Dentures

TAKE YOUR PICK

A COMMON PHRASE WHEN YOUR ARE OFFERED A SWEET, BUT WHAT IF IT WAS TO DO WITH YOUR DENTURE? Would you recognise your denture if it was in an assortment of dentures?

Would you be able to recognise your denture or a denture belonging to an elderly family member or a person you care for? This is why labelling your dentures is so important.

You might be excused for thinking any of the above situations would never occur, but you would be wrong.

Over the years we have seen a number of times when dentures have accidentally been put together and the rightful wearer unidentified. Happily, we were able to identify who owned which denture, so there was a comfortable outcome for the owners.

When caring for the elderly there are situations where it is possible dentures may be mislaid or put into the wrong denture container. The health risks of being without their dentures can have a seriously negative affect on overall health for our denture wearers.

What is the solution?

There is a simple solution to avoid these stressful events and that is to identify your denture with your unique ID. We do this by labelling your dentures with your name or initials. It could be a number unique to you which you or your family would remember and recognise. Or for outside of the family home, you might consider some way for the denture to be returned safety. A phone number or for many of our clients it is the Dental Tech phone number with your unique patient ID number stored with Dental Tech. This means we can keep your personal details anonymous and protected while ensuring a safe return to you of your prized possession. Either way we can embed your unique identifier of choice into your denture permanently and safely.

This is a service we provide in Dental Tech and have been doing for many years now.

So the next time someone asks you to TAKE YOUR PICK you can smile and say
“OH! LOVELY, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, I’LL HAVE A TOFFEE
